Reportage - Eden Powers: 07.06.09
While skating through downtown Portland a few days ago I happened upon a neat skateboarding contest sponsored by Red Bull. Coincidently a few friends of mine were riding in the contest. One friend, Eden Powers, riding for Exit Real World, actually won the contest with a half-cab heelflip nose-manny on a bank to bank contraption. I feel the whole contest seems a little strange after talking with Eden about it tonight. The east coast setup is different from the west coast’s, which could be an unfair variable for either teams competing, but the east coast winners have also apparently received cash prizes while Eden did not. At any rate I know Eden to be a cool guy and he certainly isn’t resentful about the situation, in fact I don’t believe he’s resentful toward anything.
