Reportage - Flaming Lips: 09.26.09
To find oneself in a position where the question is asked, how did I get here, can sometimes be a bad thing. Now to add that, “here,” is in the woods with at least Forty plus naked strangers, a person might imagine this to be a pretty unpleasant scenario. It isn’t until the finer details come out that the grand scheme of things begins to reveal that this is actually a remarkable setting. After working coffee all morning last Thursday I was invited to contribute a little toward the making of The Flaming Lips’ new music video and It just so happened that they were shooting on Gus Van Sants’ property. Wayne Coyne was entertaining the entire day, especially while off camera directing the masses. He kept great control of the situation every step of the way and was extremely effective at maintaining a tight schedule. I’m not sure when the video is due out, but I definitely anticipate watching it. A huge thanks to Randy for the invite.
